NEW APM-300R VEHICLES! Denver Airport Train APM-300R Launch Day Special! (7/1/2024)
Today is day one of the new Denver Airport AGTS train APM-300R vehicles in operation, meaning this will be the first enthusiast video recording of these new trains. In actuality, this video is even releasing before the airport's official launch of the new train and ribbon cutting ceremony happening tomorrow, July 2nd. I take two round trips on the train in this video and get an inside look at the trains manual controls with a member of Alstom staff overseeing the operation of the new vehicles.
I apologize for the fuzzy view, the train windows were unfortunately not clean.
Here are some fun facts about the AGTS system and the new trains:
-The original C-100 vehicles (cars 1-16) have been in operation since 1992.
-In 1996, 2001, and 2007, 15 new CX-100 vehicles were added to the system, making for a total of 31 vehicles, with 7 trains running at once.
-With the addition of the first APM-300 train, Denver Airport has the only APM system in world running three rolling stock types on one system. The APM-300 vehicles will slowly replace all of the original C-100 and CX-100 vehicles.
-Once all vehicles are replaced, the APM-300 trains will be able to operate at significantly faster speeds (up to 50 MPH) than the original vehicles (up to 35 MPH).
-The trains will eventually be extended in length to 6 cars from 4 as the system will not be able to operate any more trains without more stations being added (the current layout can handle 8 trains max)
-With the new vehicles, the system should have a time efficiency of about a minute and a half between trains. Currently timetables average 2-4 minutes between trains.

This is another old Dover elevator with the version 1 Traditional fixtures. Quite a nice one here as well.

Here we have a 60's Dover Traditional Elevator with the older black button, white halo combo. This one is very well maintained and in fantastic condition for its age as well. It has a unique configuration where the floor and call buttons are connected via the same circuit and both will light up when one is pressed.

These serve the parking garage, which was given a full atrium in the lobby and in turn, these nice glass elevators to take it all in.

Dover Hydraulic Garage Elevators at Terrace Tower, Greenwood Village, CO

These are in questionable condition for sure. Seems to have a lot of controller issues that are unaddressed, but definitely very obvious. Besides that, the cabs are in very good condition for a garage elevator.
Montgomery Hydraulic Shuttle Elevators at Terrace Tower, Greenwood Village, CO

These elevators were installed to go between 10, 11, and 12 in this building. I believe it used to be for an anchor tenant which was a law firm on the top floors. They're now the only original elevators left in this building. They have Montgomery A-Series fixtures, but had the VFD indicators replaced.

This elevator has so many moths that it's earned the title of moth-o-vator. Besides the moths, it also has Dewhurst fixtures which are incredibly uncommon in this part of the country This video was recorded with Jason, STL Elevators.

Swanky.

damn you beat me but i rode them a day before since i work at the airport so im the first elevator enthusiast to ride them
what job do you do at den?
Ah, that's cool that you work there. Are you gonna post a video on these soon?
I bet Atlanta airport train has the same thing
It’s nice that the blue overhead lights are back up and running in the northbound tunnel!
HOLY COW! So modern!
Now this airport is definitely downgraded for some how the news pop out since December
ngl, i hate the new cars. they are very ugly to me and i will miss the c100s and cx100s
they still have a lot of them in other airports. (atl, tpa, mco, sea, etc)
@@litteraly_no yeah i mean at den
well, they (probably) still have the old ones up right now.
They will be operating all three types (C-100, CX-100 and APM-300 for about a year. The CX-100s will likely stay for a few more years, but there will only be about 3 trains left with them.
okay, good. at least there will still be a few trains left.

what’s this about?
@@litteraly_no he comments timestamps on all of my train videos. If I had to guess it's just moments he thought were interesting.
@@ElevatingDenver i saw him doing it on other channels too, including my own. i guess that’s the reason.
I found the hidden Elsa in 4:59
Are these guarded or nah?
already rode them; love them. but i will miss the old ones.
It will be sad to see the old ones gone, I've been fascinated by these trains since I was about 2 years old. Were you here today as well?
@@ElevatingDenverI remember reynelda muse voices
@@ojaaviationme too, I loved the old chimes and sounds, they were so cool.

Biaxial or M3?
Biaxial, it was installed long before M3 existed.
@@ElevatingDenver Nice! My local Discount Tire has a Medeco Biaxial lock as well.
We should go to the comfort suites at you at july 12

wasnt there buttons for the doors in the emergency phone compartment?
Hey Man! Just wondering checking up if you would be interested in doing a meet up and going on some elevators sometime? I have discord in terms of my socials
Me and my family went to Denver in 2003 when I was 7, and I remember liking the train so much cause my dad told me there was no driver unlike the one at my city.
I always thought that was cool when I was a kid too, always wondered what made the train go since there was no driver. Back in 2003 they had the old lights and sounds too. It felt so much more magical back then.
i want to ride that elevator.
Nice view of it

I'm a big fan of these elevators! Lucky shot of the 5th floor too! I've heard these are maintained by ThyssenKrupp, so hopefully these don't get modernized ;)
Unfortunately, last time I was at the airport I saw they have been starting to mod all of the concourses
This is at that apartment building at Ogden and Bayaud next to country club towers.
Correction: Valentia
Wow
The service is staggered, making it look weird. Is it on the same controller as the other two?
I believe they are on the same controllers.
It was February 15. It’s not January anymore, but that’s a sweet hotel.
The video was published February 15th yes, I recorded it in January 2019. Very neat hotel indeed though.
Didn’t you know flamingo has now keyed all elevator towers
That's new. Floor-to-floor (smartkey) or can you access any floor with a key?
Didn’t you know they keyed them
We used to be here. I think we should go again we never come every year.

The old elevator
They're using GAL door equipment??? Usually they would use their own door equipment.
Stand clear of the doors and hold on for departure to all B Gates. Is this correct?
The message is: "The doors are closing. Please keep clear and hold on for departure to all 'B' Gates"
I would love to ride the Airtrain at SFO
Ok, a laundry area is a laundry area!! A workout room is usually pretty basic!! Too much time wasting on nonsense!
AWESOME Westinghouse!
